Better transport links, new hotels and a growing number of activities were cited as the reason why our country was chosen for the top spot in the guidebook publisher’s annual ‘Best in Travel’ awards.
In order to support the growing number of hotels and increasing standards, Cleanline Linen Management Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 2015, as a crucial support service that improved an otherwise unorganized laundry industry in Sri Lanka whilst mitigating increasing utility, human resource and technical process costs.
Funded by internationally recognized institutions such as IFC, DEG and FMO through Emerald Fund, Cleanline established Sri Lanka’s first commercial laundry that is up to international hospitality standards. This was achieved thanks to the knowledge transfer in design, commissioning and operations from Zero Spot Laundry – which is the largest central laundry in Singapore processing over 150,000 kg/day.
